Mentorship

Did you know students with mentors earn better grades, are less likely to skip school and are overall more likely to go to college? Here are ways to identify a mentor:

  • Reach out to your network. Mentors come in many forms. Whether it’s a teacher, member of a church or coach, mentors can help guide your interests and connect you with the resources you need to succeed.

  • Don’t be afraid to ask questions. Once you identify a potential mentor, learn more about what they do to determine if they’d be a good fit. Try asking questions on social media, sending an email or asking a mutual friend for an introduction.

  • Need more help. We can help you find a mentor through Project Ready Mentor, sign up by contacting your local urban league affiliate today.
